Coronavirus: Access Bank Closes Branch After Visitor Tested Positive To COVID-19

Access Bank Nigeria has shut down its Ligali Ayorinde branch in Victoria Island, Lagos, after a certain ‘individual’ who visited the branch some days back tested positive for Coronavirus.

The bank made the announcement on twitter, they wrote:

The health of all our stakeholders remains paramount at Access Bank Plc, as we are adopting all necessary measures to ensure your safety at this time.

We have informed the ministry of health and are working with them to resolve the issues as we continue to fight this corona pandemic.

Coronavirus: 'Abuja Hotel Cancels Reservation Because I'm Married To Italian'

A Nigerian woman’s four-night hotel reservation was cancelled by an Abuja hotel due to “global threat corona virus”. Nigeria recorded its first case of coronavirus on Thursday after an Italian, who worked with a Lafarge Africa vendor, tested positive to the virus in Lagos. Mitchelle Iannone said the Italian testing positive to the virus was the reason her reservation was cancelled by Casalinda Hotel and Gallery Resort. The reservation was done by her husband Fabio through Bookings.com and a total of $308.33 was paid. A confirmation email was sent to Mitchelle on February 26 acknowledging the receipt of the payment and the duration of the reservation. Mitchelle and Fabio are moving to Italy and had already disposed of their personal effects in their house in Nigeria. 40 Persons Infected As NCDC Confirms 4 New Coronavirus Cases

The country has recorded four new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has said. It said this brings the total number of infected persons in Nigeria to 40 as of 11:00 pm on Monday. NCDC confirmed this in a Monday night tweet. According to the agency, three of the new cases are in Lagos while the other one is in Abuja. "Four new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria. 3 are in Lagos State and 1 in FCT. "Two of these cases are returning travellers. "As at 11:00 pm on the 23rd of March, there are 40 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with 1 death recorded," the agency said.
